Life Drawing and Printing
Every Sunday, from May 7 to July 23, join Haley Whittingham for life drawing and printing classes. In the earlier classes, participants will work from observation of the life model using a range of drawing and direct printmaking techniques to explore the form of the figure through line, tone, composition and mark making. Selected monoprints will then be reworked using an experimental mixed media approach incorporating collaged elements.
During the later classes, participants will produce more sustained drawings from the life model, which will serve as reference material for intaglio and lino printing. There will be an opportunity to create multiple finished prints using a variety of colours and surfaces.
The classes will be taught through a combination of tutor demonstrations, looking at relevant artist examples and individual support and guidance throughout.
