Andrew Mackenzie Print Launch
'Woodland Structure 1' and 'Woodland Structure 2'
Join us on Thursday 27 March to unveil two new prints created by artist Andrew Mackenzie in collaboration with Edinburgh Printmakers' Head of Editions, Alastair Clark.
Inspired by a large-scale sculpture Andrew made in 2021 at Marchmont House in the Scottish Borders, Woodland Structure 1 and Woodland Structure 2 re-interpret the sculpture and its relationship with place, in different seasons and at different times of day, with subjective colour ideas. This is further explored through the development of twelve colour test proofs, which document the many variations explored along the way.
This event will consist of a brief talk about the subject of the prints in our cafe space with Andrew Mackenzie and Alastair Clark, before moving up to the studio to learn more about the collaborative process of printmaking.
This event is free, but booking is essential.
Through the EP Editions Programme, Edinburgh Printmakers invites exceptional artists to collaborate with our world class Studio Technicians to broaden their artistic practices through exploration of printmaking processes.
