EP Culture Conversations - Collecting Stories
Join us on Thursday 22nd May from 6-7:30pm in our Gallery for a
panel conversation on collecting practices.
As part of our current exhibition,
Story:
Selected Works from Edinburgh Printmakers' Collection, we
will be joined in conversation by three collection managers, Anna
Hawkins, Andrew James and Kelly McMeekin, to reflect on how they use
storytelling to bolster the objects in their collections. We'll discuss
how oral histories, letters, archival documents, lore and curatorial
research create context and a clearer picture of their artefacts. We’ll
also find out about rare gems and surprises within each collection and
consider the challenges in collecting and caring for
Intangible
Heritage.
This panel conversation is a hybrid event for people to attend
in person or online. The talk will start at 6pm in the Edinburgh
Printmakers Gallery. There will be time at the end of the talk for Q&A
from the audience.
The zoom link will be shared with attendees who select the
online ticket via email the day before the talk.
