Kerry On The Archive – Exploring the NGS Print Room
EP Studio Members visit to the National Galleries of Scotland Print Room
As part of the series of talks “On The Archive” aimed at EP Studio Members, join us for a visit to the Print Room at the National Galleries of Scotland Modern Two led by Senior Librarian Kerry Gledhill.
There are two days available for this visit on Wednesday 22nd October at 6pm or Thursday 23rd October at 6pm.
The Print Room has a maximum capacity of 15 visitors, so we have planned two dates for Kerry to show EP Srtudio Members some of the print treasures in the National Collection and speak about her work in the institution.
We will meet at 5.45 at the entrance of Modern Two on 73 Belford Rd, Edinburgh EH4 3DS
Modern Two is approximately a 30minutes walk from Edinburgh Printmakers. Unfortunately there are no busses directly connecting the two venues. Lothian bus number 13 connects Modern Two to the centre and east of the city. More information on accessibility and how to reach the gallery can be found on the NGS website here.
Kerry Gledhill is Senior Librarian for Modern and Contemporary Art at the National Galleries of Scotland. She has a particular interest in modern and contemporary artists’ books and printmaking and has curated a number of displays drawn mainly from the gallery’s collections. Her most recent projects are The Printmaker’s Art: Rembrandt to Rego (co-curated with Hannah Brocklehurtst, Lower RSA, December 2023 to 25 February 2024), Paolozzi at 100 (Modern Two, 27 January to 21 April 2024), Surface Detail (Modern One, April 2024 – April 2025) and Uncharted Territories (Modern One, May 2025 to present). She has published on both printmaking and Surrealism and led on a programme of acquisition which recently saw around 90 works of contemporary Scottish printmaking added to the collection.
Kerry has an MA in Fine Art (ECA), a postgraduate diploma in Library and Information Science, and over 20 years’ professional experience as a librarian and curator.
