Screenprinting Refresher Class
Refresher Classes offer an opportunity to consolidate skills, gain
valuable printmaking experience and spend time in the studio with
dedicated staff support. During each session there will be a
demonstration of the screen printing process, and our technician will
run you through that from start to finish. You will not be printing your
own project, instead this supplementary course will remind you of the
processes involved, and set you up to use the studio independently, and
more confidently.
Time spent in Refresher Class gives you experience and counts towards
your workshop induction so you become familiar with using the studio.
Once you have attended a refresher course you will be eligible to apply
for a full membership with all of the associated benefits.
-Bring a notebook- Screen printing has many steps, so please bring a
notebook so you can refer back to your notes when you work independently
in the studio.
Who are they for?
For lapsed members of EP- feeling a bit rusty.
-Printmakers with good experience in that process but new to EP
-People who have completed a weekend course but are looking for some
more support/assistance to build up confidence/experience before working
in the studio
Please Note
This course is NOT suitable for people with no experience in
Screenprinting - (our weekend access courses are ideal for those new to
printmaking) If you are unsure if you are suitably experienced to
attend, we ask that you email us in advance of booking at james.harrison@edinburghprintmakers.co.uk
with the following information:
- When was the last time you did Screenprinting?
- What courses have you attended and where?
- Do you have examples of prints that you have printed yourself and can
you email a photograph?
- What other print studios have you worked in?
Some people might be required to attend more than one refresher session
before gaining access to membership and working unassisted in the print
studio. This will be dependent on each individuals previous experience
and the complexity of the particular print process.
