New to printmaking? Don’t know which process may be best for you. This is the place to start.
Pick n Mix Printmaking does what it says on the (ink) tin. Sign up for as many classes as you like, pick them all or just book one a time . Each evening will explore a different type of process, often using lo-tech and immediate techniques so you can explore, create, experiment, have fun and learn along the way.
5 October. Drypoint Etching part 1
Explore line and tone drawing and different inking techniques using etching needles and sheets of acrylic. Printing onto paper.
12 October. Drypoint Etching part 2
Explore line and tone drawing and different inking techniques using etching needles and sheets of acrylic. Printing onto plaster using strips of modroc.
19 October. Mono screen printing
Using your own sketches – create a painterly mono print using a screen and screen printing inks.
11 May. Screenprinting with paper stencils
Create a 2-colour image or design using simple paper cut stencils
9 November. Letterpress
Explore a word or phrase using our extensive letterpress collection. Learn the practical skills of ‘setting up’ the letters, preparing the ink, inking up and printing
16 November. Embossing
Create an embossed image using cut card, found objects and other materials
23 November. Lino cut
Create a small lino cut print exploring cutting and inking techniques.
30 November. Kitchen sink lithography
A traditional printmaking technique with a domestic twist.
