Experimental Textile Techniques
Evening Class
In this new print program on cloth you will become familiarised with the print tools, equipment, techniques and primary skills to develop a personalised collection of finished textile print samplers ready to frame, gift, make into products or use as part of a development portfolio. Using open mesh and prepared screens with water based pigment inks on cotton you will be introduced to a variety of immediate, fun and experimental processes for textiles.
You’ll learn how to mix opaque and transparent colour, create colour blends, painterly mono prints, cut paper stencils and apply decorative metallic finishes to your fabrics.
Over 6 evenings you will develop the skills and knowledge to produce your own range of dynamic textile samplers by combining many of these techniques. You’ll leave with 6 - 8 textile designs on A3 size cotton pieces.
