Summer Print Club, Week 2, 9-11yr olds
From Monday 7 to Friday 11 August, these short sessions are designed to offer an experience of printmaking using accessible techniques and materials, encouraging creative thinking and problem solving in a relaxed and friendly space.
Workshops run from 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm (with the same workshop repeated morning and afternoon but often with different results so children can attend twice to explore more).
Monday 7th: Letterpress Printing - create some bold word art using our collection of wooden letterpress letters and different inking techniques.
Tuesday 8th: Printing with Lego - explore lego through the art of printmaking, building and printing a relief printing plate from lego!
Wednesday 9th: Printing from plants - using plants and weeds, this session will explore the process of transfer printing to create detailed plant based prints.
Thursday 10th: No phone selfies and more… Create some fun selfie images using this simple technique, and develop them using a relief printing technique.
Friday 11th: Drypoint etching - Create an ‘etched ‘ image using a sheet of acrylic and etching needle, adding tone and texture and inking up with a range of colours.
